I did a thing this weekend...
My bug guard has been broken for a while. I snagged it in the middle of winter clearing my hood and it was so brittle from the cold it just snapped. So, I finally decided to get rid of it. For the time being anyway. I may get another if I can find one cheap, but I’m not paying a dealer $100+ for a lump of ABS plastic.
Which does Oppo prefer?
I WOULD like something for stone chip protection though. Anyone here ever used that 3M clear plastic stuff?

I use it. its not bad at all actually.

My juke has a 3M clear bra on the front. I’m looking for a bug deflector, it also redirects in the wind so not as many bugs hit the windshield.

Without. So much without.

With deflector. Since the windshield is fairly upright it's just asking to be pelted with stones. At least with the deflector you might stand a chance.

I tried to install a clear bra once. Only once. Eff that thing. I have a weathertech bug guard on my current truck. Works well enough for me.

How much did you pay for that? I just don’t feel like dumping the money on a $100+ piece of plastic. Rather put that money elsewhere on the truck :):):)engine:):)

I can’t remember. Pretty sure it was under $100. I ordered the mats, vent visors, and bug guard together when I bought the truck.
Personally, I like the WeatherTech stuff - it feels a bit thicker than the generic AutoZone pieces to me.

The only thing I have against without is that it shows off the panel gap. But then I can fix that by paining the grille. I was planning on paining it a “smoked chrome” anyways, so...

Bugs get my windshield anyway. Not sure if it helps with the rocks into the windshield or not though.

How is it to install? I’m not exactly the most detail-oriented person when it comes to stuff like that.

We had both the cars professionally done, so I cant really comment on that

What about price? Would you know that?

I believe it was 500 for the front 1/4 of the car (thats front bumper, 1/2 hood, quarter panels

Um. F that option as well then.
Of course, I’d only be doing the leading edge of the hood/quarter panel.

I like Colorados without the guard and with black grilles.

Grille will eventually get painted either the same grey as the body or a “smoked chrome” of a similar shade to the body.

It was kind of weird for me to look at at first, but I like it better every day. Now I just need to do
this
